Jen Morris

Marble is canonical in the history of materials; its use dates further back than the Greeks. Through the lens of Western history, it has come to connote ideas of quality and value. Sanctioned Memory explores how political position, deindustrialization, globalization, histories of land control, permanent structural changes to a landscape, and the use of a limited resource have all contributed to the construction of an idealized version of American ideology and history.
